While the OS will pack a fresh look, some of the most anticipated features will be missing. Let’s take a look at features that will be missing from the Windows 11 launch.
1. Windows 11 Will Not Support Android Apps at Launch
During the Windows 11 reveal event, Microsoft announced that Windows 11 would run Android apps out of the box. It was one of the biggest announcements during the event and left people wondering what Android apps on Windows 11 will look like. The company is aiming to achieve this by using Intel Bridge Technology and the Windows Subsystem for Android.
Sadly, as explained on the Windows Experience Blog, Android apps will not come to Windows 11 at launch. Instead, Microsoft will begin testing the feature within the Insider Preview in the months after launch. As such, there will be no Android apps on your Windows 11 PC until 2022.
Windows 11 Needs a Bit More Polish, and That’s Alright
Android apps not coming to Windows this fall stings. But it doesn’t sting as bad as it would have if the feature arrived half-baked. So, let’s hope Microsoft hits it out of the park with Android apps on Windows 11 and doesn’t take too long doing it.
